Broadcasting of Lectures and Services

All announcements of Christian Science lectures which appear in the Christian Science publications are arranged through the office of the Board of Lectureship. This includes notices of radio broadcasting in The Christian Science Monitor and in the Christian Science Sentinel. These notices should be received at the Board of Lectureship office eight days prior to the date of the broadcast for the Monitor, and one month prior for the Sentinel.

In planning for the radio broadcasting of lectures, the consent of the lecturer should first be obtained, after which arrangements may be completed with the sending station.

As many inquiries are being received for news of lecture broadcasting, it is requisite that all churches and societies inform the Board of Lectureship when this is being undertaken.

Please include the following in a broadcasting announcement: date, hour of the lecture (standard time), sending station, and wave length.

When churches are broadcasting their services by radio, if they will send notice thereof eight days prior to the date of broadcast to the Editor of The Christian Science Monitor, the Monitor will be glad to publish an announcement. The information given should include the date, hour of service (standard time), the name of the sending station, and the wave length.

Admission to Membership in The Mother Church

Applications for admission to membership in The Mother Church may be sent to the Clerk at any time throughout the year. The receipt of an application by the Clerk does not make the applicant a member. Applications are acted upon by the Board of Directors, twice each year, as provided by the Manual of The Mother Church, Article XIII, Section 2.

The next meeting of the Board for this purpose occurs May 30, 1924. Applications to be acted upon at that time should reach the Clerk by May 16, 1924. Applications received too late for consideration in May will be placed on file for the November 7, 1924, admission.

The receipt of all applications is acknowledged by the Clerk; and on the date set for consideration, notice of acceptance or rejection is sent to those whose applications have been received in time for the essential preliminary attention. Should an applicant not receive such notice, he is requested to communicate with the Clerk before forwarding a second application.

Additional application forms may always be obtained by addressing the Clerk, George Wendell Adams, 236 Huntington Avenue, Back Bay Station, Boston, Massachusetts.
