That God is infinite, All-in-all, the only creator, source, and origin of all that is real and eternal is the "main point" of the teaching of Christian Science. The unreality of sin and pain is logically deduced from this premise. Christian Scientists do not say that disease and pain do not seem real to the physical senses. When they say these conditions are not real they mean they are not of God, that they are not to be found in the eternal reality of Being. Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This knowledge is the spiritual understanding of the eternal realities of Being; and the practice of this knowledge is true prayer.

Christian Science teaches that sin and disease can be removed by the scientific method of Christ Jesus. He destroyed these conditions through spiritual understanding, not through autosuggestion, which is the antithesis of Christian Science. He said that any one who believed in him should do the same works that he did, and greater. He never employed drugs or surgery, yet he healed all manner of disease and raised the dead. Christ Jesus was the most perfect demonstrator of Christian Science the world has ever known. He never lost a case, although in a certain locality he did not "many mighty works there because of their unbelief." In proportion to one's having the Mind of Christ one is able to emulate the works of our Master.
