Nine years ago, when all sense of human happiness and peace seemed to have fled, I turned to Christian Science, and found it to be an ideal and practical religion. For several weeks I just drank in the truth about God and His creation. At that time this sentence in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 31) stood out distinct from the rest, and it met my need: "It is the living Christ, the practical Truth, which makes Jesus 'the resurrection and the life' to all who follow him in deed." The Christ-cure for every ill had come into my experience.
We have proved many times in our home the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. Such physical ailments as abscess, bronchitis, mumps, measles, influenza, blood poisoning, and sprained wrist and ankles, have been speedily and effectively healed through Christian Science. In many cases we have experienced instantaneous relief from acute pain; also, in moments of extreme danger we have proved that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." During the past nine years the truth as taught in Christian Science has been our only physician; and we have never been tempted to use material medicine or appliances. Divine Love has met our every need.
For all the physical benefits I am very grateful; but the greatest joy of every problem overcome is the tender lesson of Truth, with its spiritual unfoldment. A little over a year ago I passed through a very severe testing time, and but for the effective and faithful work of a Christian Science practitioner there would have been fear of passing on. Extreme mental unrest was manifested, and for three weeks I experienced long, sleepless nights; yet through loving help and the understanding of divine Love, household duties were continued each day without a physical breakdown. Through clinging to the truth expressed in the twenty-third psalm, and as understood through Christian Science, I passed over the darkest hour of all, with the tangible thought,
