I wish to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is still doing for me daily. For twelve years I had been suffering from heart disease. At the slightest movement I had a violent beating of the heart and pains in the chest, combined with severe attacks of coughing, which resulted in vomiting. At times my heart felt so weak that I was about to collapse from exhaustion. Most of the time I sat up in bed, not being able to lie down. The last years I was also a victim of fever, so that I was often on the verge of despair. These sufferings completely robbed me of peace.

How glad I was when I heard of Christian Science! Without hesitation I went to see a practitioner and asked for help. After the first treatment I felt a great peace. To my consciousness the words, "They who trust in the Lord shall have their strength renewed; God always helps us," always seemed present. How hopeful I now was that I, too, should have renewed strength through our dear Father-Mother God! And it came, although not instantaneously. Through the loving help of a practitioner I was healed. To-day I am free from pain and difficulties in the chest, without having resorted to any material means. I relied entirely on the power of God, as Christian Science teaches us to do.

I wish to relate another experience to show how firm faith in God's truth and love has worked in me. I was emptying a pan of boiling water, when the pan slipped and my left foot was scalded. I at once denied the error and affirmed the truth. After a few minutes the pain had disappeared. There were no blisters; and after five days all trace of the burn had vanished. A boy in the family, too, received help in a single Christian Science treatment. He had a growth on his foot; and through absent treatment he was healed.
