Divine metaphysics, as taught in Christian Science, needs to be distinguished from what is taught as metaphysics by other schools. Christian Science teaches the allness and supremacy of divine Mind, God, and thus makes clear that matter is not what it appears to be. The rapid changes that are taking place in human thinking in regard to matter are all in the direction of this truth, which Mrs. Eddy proclaimed nearly sixty years ago. Mrs. Eddy writes on page 69 of "Miscellaneous Writings": "Divine metaphysics is that which treats of the existence of God, His essence, relations, and attributes. A sneer at metaphysics is a scoff at Deity; at His goodness, mercy, and might."
