"If, in accordance with Mrs. Eddy's expectations, The Christian Science Monitor is to fulfill its mission of blessing all mankind by enabling it to see good magnified in the minutiæ of human affairs, it is evident that all mankind must first become acquainted with the Monitor. Admitting this, where does the responsibility of realizing our Leader's aspirations mainly rest, if not in the hands of Christian Scientists, both individually and through organized circulation work?

"Faced by that which appeared to me to be an inescapable conclusion, I asked myself several months ago whether or not I was doing all I should to promote the Monitor's circulation. Obviously I was not; whereupon I decided then and there to measure up more closely to that which I believed our Leader would expect of a practitioner worthy to be listed in The Christian Science Journal.

"My first step was to procure a sign notifying visitors to my office that I was accepting subscriptions for the Monitor. I also endeavored, in a wise and loving manner, to point out to those who called upon me for help the desirability of subscribing for the Monitor, both because of its value as a clean, constructive newspaper and because of its helpfulness to practitioners and patients in preparing the soil for the seed of Christian Science healing.
