An earnest prayer for constant spiritual growth and an effort to live the truth can alone express my gratitude for Christian Science, and my love for Mrs. Eddy, who so courageously and unselfishly gave the Christianly scientific method of healing to this age. The error which seems to manifest the most discord is usually the one which seems most real to us. Destruction of that error certainly is a cause for sincere gratitude. Growth in Christian Science, however large or small, has shown me greater joys and happiness in destroying not only the physical manifestation of disease, but the erroneous, self-satisfying, mortal conclusion that matter subjects man to suffering.

I came under Christian Science, as a child four years old. I found protection and growth through the guidance of a clarifying mother-thought, then growing into understanding. During the twelve years that followed I was kept physically well. My growth in Sunday school work supplied harmony in thought. I had no occasion to prove that God healed the sick, although I had seen many cases of disease healed through Christian Science.

We know that error in any form is not necessary to prove the omnipotence of God's law or that man is eternally spiritual. Our growth, however, is determined by our proving, either with or without suffering, mental or physical, that life is not a part of material culture or action, and that man is spiritually existent. Because of this growth I am grateful to God to have had the opportunity of proving that He heals the sick.
