I have given my testimony of physical healing many times in our Wednesday evening meetings, but thought it might interest others who are just turning to Christian Science for help, and perhaps have been told that Christian Science is all right for nervous diseases but can do nothing for organic or chronic diseases. Of all the physicians I have consulted not one ever hinted that my trouble was caused by nerves.

As an infant I was never well. At three years of age I had a severe attack of scarlet fever, which left me totally deaf. I regained hearing in one ear, but the other continued to have abscesses form in it; and when I was about ten years of age a specialist said that the inner ear was entirely destroyed. When I was about eight years of age a large swelling appeared on one hip. As years went by, it was one thing after another. I was constantly under the care of physicians, who said I could never grow up.

Finally, a physician who had been in the West recommended a higher altitude. Our home was in New York state, so we came out to a mining camp in the mountains of Utah. In a few months I was much worse, and it developed that I had hip disease. I was confined to bed most of the time. When at my best I could but walk with the aid of crutches. This condition continued for over ten years. About two years before I turned to Christian Science for help, I had a very severe illness. When I was able to be up again I had tuberculosis of the stomach. There did not seem to be one thing about me that was normal.
