The system known as Christian Sciewnce coincides at no point with hypnotism, suggestion, or autosuggestion. Its medicine is Truth—the divine Mind. Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 358) writes of Christian Science in these words: "It presents the calm and clear verdict of Truth against error, uttered and illustrated by the prophets, by Jesus, by his apostles, as is recorded throughout the Scriptures." Knowing the truth about man and his relation to his divine Principle, God, with conviction, with power, and with "signs following," is a mental process as far removed as the East is from the West from any method which involves the repetition of formulas. The Bible from one end to the other teaches those who seek divine help to "fear not." The Scriptures, when understood in the light of Christian Science, always give adequate reasons for rising above fear. Their teaching imparts the power to do this by convincing the sincere seeker that divine Love is omnipresent and omnipotent, and is always equal to the work of meeting all human needs.
