In
the early stages of his pilgrimage from sense to Soul the student of Christian Science sometimes catches such glorious glimpses of the spiritual kingdom that he seems literally transported into another world.
Many
of us, and perhaps most of us, who have turned to Christian Science for help in our time of need, have received more blessings from the activities of this Science than we can easily enumerate or repay.
Christian Scientists
have a great affection for their Hymnal, because of its familiar and well-loved tunes, and the encouragement, rest, and strength to be found in its comforting verses.
Some
years ago the writer was told of the following incident by a Christian Scientist.
In
human experience, it is more often the pains of material sense rather than the search for Truth which turn us to the reality of things.
Frequently,
from those seeking help in Christian Science comes the remark, "I have lost my health," or, "I have lost my former activity and vigor.
Christian Science is not merely a system for curing bodily ailments.
One who knows absolutely nothing of Christian Science naturally imagines that it is the human or carnal mind which is supposed to accomplish the healing; and, of course, cannot understand how this so-called mind can heal by "absent treatment.
Christian Science draws a very clear line of distinction between the mortal and the immortal.
Speaking for Christian Scientists, permit me to say, first, that Christian Science does not teach its students to "hate" any one's beliefs, no matter how much they may disagree with them.
Our critic states there are many who ardently wish to preserve a physical sense of goodness and life.
The system known as Christian Sciewnce coincides at no point with hypnotism, suggestion, or autosuggestion.
The Christian Scientist is a real soldier of the cross.
Now to hearts of men are stealingThoughts of Truth that are revealingFreedom as man's true estate;Good as pow'r and all-availing,Over evil's claims prevailing;Love and justice, meekness, mercy,Mightier far than greed and hate.

To insure that complete lecture notices be printed in the Sentinel, detailed information should reach the Board of Lectureship regarding lectures in the United States and Canada, four weeks before the date of the lecture; in Great Britain and Ireland, five weeks before; in other European countries, six weeks before.
From my youth I had a longing for something by which existence could be understood,—something real, to show the right way to live.
After I had refused for years to have anything whatever to do with Christian Science, which I had never looked into at all, it was lovingly presented to me by a neighbor in time of great need.
During the latter part of October, 1918, I was stricken with an affliction which I was unable to overcome; and in consequence, was forced to go to bed.
About three years ago a member of our family was sent to a hospital suffering from tuberculosis in an advanced stage.
With a heart filled with gratitude I am sending this testimony of my physical healing, which I received through Christian Science.
I have given my testimony of physical healing many times in our Wednesday evening meetings, but thought it might interest others who are just turning to Christian Science for help, and perhaps have been told that Christian Science is all right for nervous diseases but can do nothing for organic or chronic diseases.
I have been helped many times through reading the testimonies in the Journal and Sentinel, and have at times been instantly healed of headache while reading them.
In the fall of 1908, I first heard of healing through Christian Science.
It is now almost three years since I began to study Christian Science; and I am truly grateful for the many blessings I have had during this time, and for the understanding I have of this great truth.
About seven years ago we began the study of Christian Science, and many and varied have been the blessings which have followed this step.
About five years ago, when very much in need of physical healing, having tried treatment of various kinds as well as change of climate, I seemed, in spite of all that was being done, to grow steadily worse.
