During the latter part of October, 1918, I was stricken with an affliction which I was unable to overcome; and in consequence, was forced to go to bed. Notwithstanding the loving thoughts around me, conditions became alarmingly serious. When I became delirious, the services of a Christian Science practitioner were asked for and lovingly given; in all, five absent treatments. After the second treatment a change for the better took place; and on the Friday following the fifth treatment I was so far recovered as to be able to get up, although quite weak. Thanks to God and the loving ministrations of the practitioner and her understanding of the truth of being, as revealed by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I was soon absolutely healed. The following Monday all evidence that anything unusual had occurred had entirely disappeared. My flesh had returned "as the flesh of a little child," and I went to my office to resume the work I had been so unceremoniously forced to discontinue some nine days before.

It is indeed with a heart overflowing with gratitude that I humbly acquiesce with the Psalmist's exhortation to bless God for His tender mercy and loving-kindness vouchsafed to me, and to acknowledge publicly the proof that "the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save," and that God is "a very present help in trouble."

This attack occurred about five years ago; and I am here to-day, a living testimonial of the efficacious healing power of Christian Science, patiently striving to help others in their journey from sense to Soul.
