I have long felt that it was my duty, as well as a privilege, to acknowledge through one of our periodicals what Christian Science has done for me. I did not take up the study for physical healing, although I was greatly in need of it. Out of a family of ten, only a younger brother and I remained. I was surely in the depths of despair, not knowing which way to turn. Then another sorrow came—the loss of my only son. I finally turned to Christian Science for help. I shall never forget the peace that came over me the first time I visited a Christian Science practitioner. She lovingly explained to me that there are no accidents in Mind, and there is no separation. I was healed then of sorrow. Later, after three treatments, I was healed of kidney and bladder trouble, supposed to have been inherited. I have never had a return of it since my healing, nearly ten years ago. Our daughter was healed of goiter. I had al ways had a horror of operations, so I told my husband I was going to try Christian Science for her. I applied to a practitioner seventy-two miles away for help. Our daughter was under treatment for two weeks, and at first she seemed to get worse. The following Sunday, however, she dressed and came downstairs completely healed. Her neck was perfectly normal and has remained so ever since. This was in 1911. She was also healed at the same time of stomach trouble and extreme nervousness.
Words can never express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for mankind.
(Mrs.) Leonora Cruikshank, Fort Worth, Texas.
