About a year and a half ago I began to take an active interest in Christian Science, having heard of it some time before, and I asked for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner for certain physical ills. I had been greatly troubled with constipation for about ten years, accompanied with terrible hemorrhoids, which were almost unbearable at times, and for which I had taken medical treatment, with prospect of an operation. The other trouble, of about four years' standing, was one of periodical distress so severe that always for one night I could not sleep at all, and seemed almost paralyzed with pain. After one treatment the constipation entirely disappeared, and I have never been troubled with it since; nor did I ever notice the hemorrhoids after that time. Also, after the first treatment the pains referred to were greatly relieved, and I was never again kept awake with them, and was able to do active physical work during the day. The trouble gradually diminished until it was hardly noticeable, and I was able to work for myself mentally at such times. Now I am free and normal; and it is impossible to state what this relief means.
