I desire to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. I know that I stand as a living witness to its healing power. For nearly two years I had suffered greatly from gastritis, nervousness, and other troubles, the worst being a badly affected heart, which difficulty was supposed to be hereditary and incurable. From girlhood I had suffered from a weak heart; and a great sorrow and the gastritis seemed to aggravate this trouble, making it much worse. I was confined to bed most of the time, but having a good deal of energy, when it was possible I would drag around the house trying to perform a few household duties.

At this time a kind lady moved next door to me. Seeing my condition, she told me of Christian Science and begged me to try it. When my husband came in, I related to him what the lady had said, and he, too, begged me to try it. He said we had tried all that doctors and medicine would do, and I was fast growing worse. So we decided to give Christian Science a fair trial. That night we wrote to a lady I knew to be a Christian Scientist, and the next day she came in answer to my note. She helped me to obtain the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I began reading it. After reading it for several days, I called on her for more help, and she sent a practitioner to me.

At this time I was confined to the bed, and weighed ninety-one pounds. After one week's treatment in Christian Science I was able to go to the practitioner's home, walking there and back. After three weeks' treatment I was healed. That was three years ago. I am so thankful that all these ailments were overcome. I am now in perfect health, and weigh one hundred and thirty-one pounds. During this time I have had and seen many other healings in my home.
