Forgetting Self

Forgetting self, I learn to know my Father's love;
Forgetting self, the guiding light shines from above,
And, unobscured, makes every moment bright
With understanding of the way that's right.

Forgetting self, I see no evil anywhere;
Forgetting self, I see the perfect model there.
The veil is gone, and God's own child appears;
The truthful image quiets all my fears.

Forgetting self, I all my pain and sin forget;
Forgetting self, I find my problems all are met;
I find my God when self is put away,
And Life, Truth, Love, with heaven fill my day.
