Among the Churches

Current Notes

Schenectady, N. Y. (First Church).—Plans for the new Christian Science church, to be erected on Union Street and Madison Avenue, are now in the final stages. When completed the edifice promises to be a great architectural asset for the city. The board of trustees appointed a building committee of five and an advisory committee of ten to work with it in preparing the plans. The new building, which will have a seating capacity of six hundred, will be one of the most beautiful in Schenectady. The church will be classical in design, with limestone columns and tapestry brick to match. A site with one hundred and forty feet frontage on Union Street and one hundred and fifty feet deep with frontage on Madison Avenue has been selected and purchased. The growth of the Christian Science movement here has been phenomenal.—Union Star.
