Based solely on the Bible; honoring God to the full extent of the Scriptural designation of Him as omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient; admonishing rigid adherence to the Ten Commandments; accepting as a fundamental of its faith and practice the Sermon on the Mount and the necessity for all Christian to obey the commands of Christ Jesus to preach the gospel, heal the sick, and cast out devils or evil, as an essential part of Christianity, Christian Science cannot by any stretch of imagination be open to the charge of being "highly dangerous." For nearly half a century, through the ministry of Christian Science, sickness has been healed, sin destroyed, vicious habits overcome, and sorrow comforted for hundreds of thousands throughout the world, who have felt the spiritual uplift which comes of a better understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him as His image and spiritual likeness, which Christian Science teaches.

Christian Science is the direct opposite of hypnotism. Hypnotism is a form of suggestion. Suggestion is is wholly an operation of the human, mortal, or carnal mind, declared by Paul to be "enmity against God." In his declaration that "every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation," Jesus said, in effect, that the so-called human mind, which is the cause of disease, cannot heal it. Of mental medicine and mind cures, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writing on page 185 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," says: "Such theories and such systems of so-called mind-cure, which have sprung up, are as material as the prevailing systems of medicine. They have their birth in mortal mind, which puts forth a human conception in the name of Science to match the divine Science of immortal Mind, even as the necromancers of Egypt strove to emulate the wonders wrought by Moses. Such theories have no relationship to Christian Science, which rests on the conception of God as the only Life, substance, and intelligence, and excludes the human mind as a spiritual factor in the healing work."
