As one who has been greatly benefited by Christian Science, I feel it a duty to express my gratitude for the wonderful healing I have had, so that others, who may now be afflicted, may not become discouraged, but learn that our Father can and will redeem and release us from any claim of sin or sickness, if we will but come to Him, not only believing, but knowing, that He is omnipotent and omnipresent, and with the understanding of man's real relation to God.

About two years ago, after an attack of pleurisy and pneumonia, my condition was such as to indicate tuberculosis. I had frequent pains in my chest and back, and other symptoms. I was so weak physically that I could not run at all; and a walk of a few blocks would leave me exhausted. It was during this time that I fully embraced Christian Science. Prior to this, while some of my relatives had been studying Christian Science, I had never been sufficiently interested to give it much thought; and an ordeal of this kind was necessary to bring me to a realization of what religion can accomplish when based upon divine Principle, as revealed in Christian Science. My condition at the time of this illness seemed so bad that quite a few of my friends and acquaintances were surprised, as I afterwards learned, at my remarkable recovery. In addition to overcoming this, I entirely lost my desire and craving for tobacco, although I had been an inveterate smoker prior to this experience.

To those who may become discouraged on account of the slow progress they seem to be making, I wish to say that I felt likewise, and occasionally was inclined to question why this or that condition was not being healed sooner. If we continue striving earnestly to realize what is man's true nature, we shall assuredly awake to find that we have been released from the disease which has been holding us in bondage, as it is only after we have lost all sense of fear and doubt, and have placed ourselves unreservedly in the hands of God, that we can receive those spiritual blessings which are inherently ours.
