Ten years ago I was led to Christian Science by a sister-in-law who had been healed in Science. It was not her physical healing, so much as the change in her life which attracted my attention, as two years before she had been so trifling about religious matters, and now was just the reverse. She had become more anxious to talk about religion than anything else, and the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, were her daily study. My wife was also carried away with it. I, too, was much interested. I read lots of the literature, and decided it was a religion of love.

A little later a lady who had been healed in Science, the wife of a physician, came to our town. One day I told my wife that I intended to ask this lady, who was a Christian Science practitioner, to help me so that I might be healed of eczema, from which I had suffered for about twenty-five years. I had tried many different kinds of medical practitioners, had been treated by specialists, and had been at a hospital, but had got no results. I am happy to say that from the very first treatment in Christian Science I felt relieved, and in three weeks I was a well man. I had not taken one drop of medicine of any kind, but had just trusted God. I have had many other healings in Science, for which I am thankful.

I had been trying to be a Christian then about forty years, and I enjoyed my religion, but I did not depend entirely upon God for my physical healing. I trusted God to heal me of sin, but did not go to Him for the healing of the ills of the flesh. Since turning to Christian Science I now go to God for everything; and I must say that since I have learned to trust God for all, it keeps me turning to Him so much that the constant seeking of Him, and the daily study of the Bible and Science and Health, have brought me a great uplift spiritually. It is about ten years since I used any medicine, either externally or internally. In that time I have had many sicknesses, but have found God to be the great Physician; and I feel like saying, "Bless the Lord, O my soul."—George Burton, Dover, Del.
