My first healing through Christian Science treatment...

My first healing through Christian Science treatment was of a condition which the medical profession called serious. For three years I had gone from one physician to another seeking help, but getting only temporary relief. I had, by this time, given up all hope of ever being free from this trouble. Then I was led to Christian Science. When I asked a loving practitioner for treatment, it was with the thoughts of a doubting Thomas, because I had grown to believe that God, if there were one, was very unjust and harsh. I had always been told that all pain and trouble were sent by God to force us to be obedient; but, instead, it had driven me farther away from Him; so I had no faith in His healing me. But I was healed; and the healing was permanent. This healing occurred about nine years ago. The Christian Science practitioner overcame this condition in ten treatment; and since then Christian Science, when it has been properly applied, has destroyed every discord.

Now our whole family relies upon God, as revealed in Christian Science, to overcome every erroneous condition. We have two children in our home. Christian Science has been such a great help that I do not know how I could have got along without its teachings to solve the everyday problems that arise in home life. I am indeed grateful to have our little folk attend the Christian Science Sunday School; it is truly a privilege.

I want to express my gratitude: first to God, who is Love, and sends nothing but good to His children; to Christ Jesus, for showing us the way; and to Mary Baker Eddy, for again bringing to this sin-sick world the beautiful truths that are given to us in her many writings, that we may not only heal ourselves physically by working out of the many erroneous beliefs to which we have seemingly been in bondage, but may also be a channel through which good may be given to others. I also wish to express gratitude for the loving practitioners who have so kindly aided me when asked to do so, and to the many friends who have given me a helpful word. Their loving thoughts have enabled me to think more clearly; and everything grows brighter as the result of right thinking.
