I am very grateful to testify through the Christian Science...
I am very grateful to testify through the Christian Science periodicals to what Christian Science had done and is doing for me. Christian Science came into my life about fifteen years ago, in answer to prayer that God would teach me the meaning of Truth. I had left off praying in the way I had been taught from childhood, because I got no answer to the petitions I used to offer, and which I felt a loving Father ought to answer.
When I had ceased to believe in the teachings of so-called orthodoxy, and in medical theories, the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was offered to me by a friend who knew very little about it herself. At that time I was very far from being a well woman, having been considered delicate all my life. I used to feel so weary and tired; and there were very few days in which I did not have to lie and rest some part of the day to help me to carry on. As I read this book for the first time, I was healed of all this weariness, and also of very bad headaches, from which I had suffered very often for two or three days at a time; and in all these years, although I have worked very hard and had many difficulties to overcome, I have never had to spend one day in bed.
I am so grateful that when I began the study of Christian Science my son, then eleven years old, was quite willing to accept it too. He has had the great privilege of being taught in a Christian Science Sunday School, and now always turns to Christian Science to help him in any problem. He has been healed of chicken pox, measles, diphtheritic throat (this in less than twenty-four hours, and there was no convalescence), and was wonderfully protected and preserved from what might have been a very serious accident.
