I should like to tell of the many physical healings that the members of my family have experienced in Christian Science, but at this time will confine myself to one or two. Four years ago, one of our twin daughters, aged at that time seven years, became ill with all the appearances of scarlet fever. My wife asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner, which was lovingly given; but as the symptoms appeared to be those of a so-called contagious disease, it was necessary, in accordance with the law of the land, to call in a doctor. the doctor ordered no material remedies, so the Science treatment was not interfered with in any way. Although, on the second day, another doctor, who chanced to call, and who had been, years ago in Australia, our family doctor, diagnosed the condition as scarlet fever, the child was quite normal and well again in one week. Two weeks later, our other daughter was taken ill with the same symptoms, but holding fast to the truth, my wife and I were able to help her in Science, and she also recovered quickly. Before and since then, the children have been helped through many other troubles, such as measles, colds, influenza, and what has been called skin affection. In the last case, although we had the loving help of a loyal practitioner, it was again necessary to call in a doctor, as the condition had been termed contagious. The doctor said that it would be impossible for the children to return to school for two or three months; but in less than a fortnight he was able to give them what he called "a clean bill of health," and they returned to school in about three weeks.

After the Armistice, the problem of my reinstatement into civil life appeared to be very difficult. At first I sought a position through the agency of personal influence, and continued to do so for about ten months, because that seemed to be the usual way, and I had not learned fully that divine Love is the only provider. I at last turned to Christian Science for help in this problem; but it was not solved until I had proved every word of the following verse of Mrs. Eddy's "Mother's Evening Prayer" (Poems, p. 4):—
