For all the benefits I have received from Christian Science,...
For all the benefits I have received from Christian Science, I cannot begin to express my gratitude. Last summer my mother was very ill with what the doctors called eczema. Her face was so swollen she could hardly see, and she suffered intensely. The physician in attendance was very kind and did all he could to relieve her, but advised the calling in of another physician for consultation. When my mother heard this, she was hopelessly despondent, as my father had passed on the year before under the same course of medical treatment. My sister and I wanted her to have Christian Science treatment, and she wished it. I declared the truth for her; and we wrote to a practitioner, who so lovingly and faithfully did the work that my mother was healed, her skin becoming perfectly clear. Then weakness and indigestion were also overcome. This winter she has been very active, part of the time attending to the housekeeping.
In my home, indigestion, rheumatism, and lack have been driven out. With my children, to know that their real selves belong to God and not to suffer with fear concerning them is more comfort to me than I can express. Not long ago, one of my girls who is away at school was taken with grippe on Sunday. At the time, the infirmary was overflowing with girls with the same disease. On Monday a letter was written to a Christian Science practitioner. She did not lose that day from school and wrote me Tuesday morning, "I am perfectly well." The children have been healed of sprains and mumps, and have been wonderfully protected in falls and with wild horses. When I rely absolutely on Christian Science it never fails me. I am grateful to the patient, loving teacher and practitioners who have helped me. Every day I am thankful to God and to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science.
