It is a great privilege to tell or write of the healing power of Christian Science and of God's love for mankind, especially for one who was in dire need of it.

After I had doctored for several years, my case of chronic rheumatism seemed incurable; and I was so informed by several physicians. Although I had great faith in them at times, I finally came to the conclusion that I had experienced more harm than good. After being treated at two different hot springs without any relief whatsoever, I could not believe, as some did, that I would be a cripple for life. In my extremity I cried out to God to show me the way out of this wilderness, for I could not believe that He wanted me to be an invalid.

While I was in this mental state, a friend who had been healed of rheumatism in Christian Science suggested my taking up the study of it. The following day I called on a practitioner; and I am glad to say that I began to improve immediately. It was not long before I could discard my crutches and do light work. The healing, however, was slow; and I had to prove the truth every step of the way. I am now grateful that the healing was slow, as it compelled me to work, watch, and pray, as our dear Master tells us we must; and I was able to prove that God heals to-day as He did in Jesus' time.
