The Lectures

Madison, Wis. (Second Church).—Prof. C. E. Millar, introducing Dr. John M. Tutt, spoke as follows:—

About two thousand years ago there came into the world one to whom the ways of God were not hidden. To a world full of discord, of sorrow, and of hatred, he preached a gospel of harmony, of joy, and of love. Jesus' life is a living demonstration of the truth of his teachings.

In 1866 Mrs. Eddy, through a careful study of the Bible, came to a realization that the teachings of Christ Jesus are applicable to all ages, and that God's power was as available to her as to the believers of ancient times. This realization brought great joy and an all-sustaining strength into the life of Mrs. Eddy. Thousands following in her footsteps have found that Christ Jesus' promises are redeemable and that God's power and goodness meet their every need.
