Letters from the Field

"I have enjoyed the benefits of the beautiful home of The Christian Science Benevolent Association for five weeks, and wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this blessed privilege. Words cannot express a fraction of my gratitude. This has been the happiest experience of my life, as there seems nothing but Love reflected there. Needless to say, my spiritual growth is progressing rapidly and the material diseases disappearing in proportion.

"I had expected to have a talk with you before leaving, but was informed that you were not in. So I am taking this means of thanking you, the Trustees, and the employees, for all the benefits I received while there, and shall continue to receive as I put into practice what I learned while there. I am especially grateful to the nurses for their kind, considerate, and cheerful help. You do not realize how much good you are doing. My friends are very grateful, too, for my progress both mentally and physically.

"The good work commenced in the individual consciousness while at the Sanatorium does not stop when one leaves, for since my return the spiritual unfoldment has continued. The contrast in environment is very striking when one leaves, in fact just as striking as when one enters the institution; but when we see this as simply an opportunity to put into practice the truth we have learned while at the Sanatorium, it only serves to stimulate one to greater effort, and with this effort comes more strength, a better understanding, a keener appreciation of the work being done at the institution, and of Mrs. Eddy for having seen its need. Surely, this institution proves her love for mankind, and that Christian Science is practical and meets the human need.
