I am sure you will allow me to correct a misconception of Christian Science appearing in an issue of your paper, and to state emphatically that Christian Scientists do not employ suggestion in any form in their work of healing sickness and sin. Christian Science teaches that it is not the psychology of the human mind but the law of God that heals to-day, as it always has healed and always will heal whenever it is correctly applied. The Christian Scientist is humbly trying to bring his thoughts and actions into obedience to this law. He is applying it to the difficulties of human experience, and proving its power in proportion to his understanding of it. He learns that it is never the human self, the suggestion of the human will or mind, personally or in the mass, which heals any error; but that, instead, the healing comes by the transcendent divine power reaching men and women through the channels of faith and spiritual understanding. Thus he learns how a man's faith can make him whole, how it enables him to receive the answer to his prayer, to accept Christ's healing gratefully, to go his way rejoicing, glorifying our Father which is in heaven.
