Kindly allow me to say a word in your columns with reference to the comment on Christian Science in a recent issue of your paper by one who attended a recent lecture on this subject. Although much of the comment in question was favorable, yet some of it was quite mistaken.

It is true that Christian Science cures nervous diseases, but it is also true that it cures other diseases. The verified testimonies of healing published from week to week and from month to month in the Christian Science periodicals include disorders of every kind.

The fact that Mrs. Eddy left a valuable estate does not contradict the lecturer's statement that Mrs. Eddy loved humanity and sacrificed for humanity. As he pointed out, she lived a life of love and sacrifice. Her estate, which she left to be used for religion, consisted mostly of her copyrights. She neither accumulated much money nor spent much for herself.
