This testimony is given in grateful acknowledgment of the great benefits I have received through the loving ministrations of Christian Science. First among my blessings I count the deliverance from false belief about God and man,—that is, belief in a corporeal God and a sinful man. Before coming into Christian Science, I prayed to "the unknown God" whom I "ignorantly" worshiped. Since being enlightened by Christian Science I am beginning to experience the joy of knowing God as perfect Life, Truth, and Love, and man as His image and likeness.
One of my physical healings was that of chronic stomach trouble dating from early childhood. I tried many forms of treatment for this condition, but was not cured. If seemingly relieved for a time, the trouble would always return in a worse form. In Christian Science I have been completely and permanently healed; and I am so grateful to be able to leave my stomach out of my thought altogether, after having been constantly reminded of it for so many years.
Another healing that I owe to Christian Science is that of a very bad structural defect of one eye and another nearly as bad in the other eye. Both an oculist and an optometrist said that if I did not wear the spectacles provided to normalize these defects I would continue to have the terrible headaches from which I frequently suffered. From the beginning of my study of the truth taught in Christian Science I have never worn the spectacles. My sight is very good, and I do not have headaches. I have also been healed of insomnia, sore feet, and ringing noises in my ears. Many defects of character, too, are slowly but surely yielding to the power of Truth.
