I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. One morning, while about my work in a large hotel, I had occasion to mount a stepladder. I was up about three feet, and in coming down my dress caught on the top step, and I fell backwards to the cement floor. Those who came to my assistance thought I was killed. I was helped to my room, and a Christian Science practitioner was called. I was in great fear that I had been hurt internally, on account of the symptoms. As soon as the practitioner left, I returned to my work. I was away less than an hour, much to the surprise of those who saw me fall.

For this instantaneous healing, and the many proofs that I have had that the truth does heal, I am deeply grateful; but far more so for the understanding of God as Love, which I have gained through the study of Christian Science, and to know that at all times and under all conditions God's loving, protecting care is present.
