Seven years ago, I went to a Christian Science practitioner...
Seven years ago, I went to a Christian Science practitioner to get help for my boy, who was suffering from tuberculosis of the spine, and other bones of the body. He had worn a steel brace for two years and a half. In two months, as a result of Christian Science treatment, the brace was removed. There came a time, however, when we seemed to be standing still, when there seemed to be no improvement. The thought came to me: If your boy were not healed, would you still believe Christian Science to be the truth? The answer came quickly: Yes, I know Christian Science to be the truth which Jesus said would make men free. Giving up all thought of physical healing, I went to work to "study to shew" myself "approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth;" and the healing came more rapidly.
Christian Science has lifted this boy from brace and crutches to the enjoyment of the activities of any normal boy. His healing was slow, covering a period of four years; but this has only been the means of our gaining a better understanding of the truth. Jesus said, "If ye continue in my word, ... ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
On my first visit to the practitioner I was healed of constipation, from which I had suffered since birth. I have become well and strong, where before I had been a semiinvalid; and have been healed of quinsy, headache, influenza, and many other ills. My husband is a graduate in pharmacy; but Christian Science has been our only medicine for seven years, and we have never enjoyed better health.
