The Scriptures unquestionably support the teaching of Christian Science regarding death. To cite only two examples: "verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man keep my saying, he shall never see death;" "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Christian Science is teaching and demonstrating that these glorious promises are applicable to mankind at the present time. The initial steps are being taken in healing sickness and destroying sin, and men are being aroused to work for the overthrow of death, which is described by Paul as "the last enemy that shall be destroyed." When Mrs. Eddy says, in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 266), "Man is deathless, spiritual. He is above sin or frailty," she is describing spiritual man, not the carnal man. This distinction is made quite clear in the New Testament, and there is nothing to be gained by ignoring it.
