London (England) Standard
In a recent issue of The Standard there appeared an article entitled, "Hypnotism and Prejudice," in which Christian Science is referred to as a form of suggestion. This is not the case. Christian Science treatment is the utilization of the powers of the divine Mind, in contradistinction to the human or carnal mind. When our Master said, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," he declared that freedom was dependent on a knowledge of truth. Christian Science reveals the spiritual understanding of the Scriptures, which alone accounts for the healing recorded in the Old and New Testaments. A Christian Scientist is the best mental analyst; for it is just in proportion to his having the Mind of Christ that he can scientifically read the human mind, excise from it the offending errors, and replace them with the spiritual truth which heals and uplifts.
