Deep gratitude actuates me to testify to the many blessings...
Deep gratitude actuates me to testify to the many blessings which we have received through Christian Science. About seven years ago we first learned of Christian Science through a lady residing here, also through a gentleman from America, who made his temporary abode here; but at that time we had too little understanding and too much doubt of the healings to realize the great value of this Science. Having gained, through education, a faithfulness to duty, I was impelled to study the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," conscientiously. Through study much doubt was dispelled, and I realized that this teaching had a firm foundation. Above all I had great fear to overcome, which I conquered through the knowledge that God is omnipresent.
Of the many proofs of the healing work of the truth I wish to relate a few. Our son was healed of a tenacious, nervous stomach trouble, which he had had since birth. The healing was comparatively slow but came in the measure that our understanding increased; and our gratitude was all the greater when the boy was able to take and digest all nourishment. He attends a private school away from home, but we would not have been able to send him away from home had we not gained the understanding through Christian Science that no matter where he may be he is in God's protecting care, for as a result of the many sicknesses through which he had passed in his infancy he had become very nervous.
At this time I was constantly learning to understand more of this Science; also how to apply it to all our problems in daily life. Through this we have received many blessings in business matters, for our business prospered in spite of the severe warring years. In regard to our maintenance we have had many proofs of God's unfailing love, for we are constantly endeavoring to realize, and are proving, the inexhaustible source of supply; otherwise, due to the food ration system, we would probably often have suffered want.
