A Word in Season
The whole world needs Christian Science to-day as never before. Our church and all branch churches need Christian Science as never before. Our periodicals need Christian Science as never before. For many years these periodicals have brought cheer and comfort and healing into our homes. Can it be right to consider keeping these messengers of Truth and Love from the field, from the homes, from the institutions, from the reading tables, from our libraries, factories, and stores, even for a day or a week? If any one thinks that the periodicals are not up to the standard of the teachings of Christian Science, let him ask himself, Am I, as an individual, living in accord with the standard of Christian Science? If so, then let us out of the fullness of our hearts send to these periodicals the messages of healing and of Truth and Love for publication. They are our periodicals, and we are privileged to "do our bit" to make them the channels of Truth and Love for which they stand and were intended—not by withdrawing our moral support, our subscriptions, our cards, but by overflowing The Christian Science Publishing Society with articles, and testimonies of healing, from Christian Scientists and practitioners from all over the world. If such messages are sent with the heart full of love for our cause and for all mankind, there will be no question or criticism of the standard of the articles, and healing will follow.
To resort to force and mob violence seems to be the paramount claim abroad to-day, and all forms of government are meeting it as best they know how. Do Christian Scientists have to resort to such methods to make the demonstrations of Truth? No! Let us stand by the only true Principle of all healing, more firmly than ever before, and know that Truth in its own quiet, sure way, will do the work, until all error is destroyed.
