The Lectures

Whitley Bay, Northumberland, England (Society).—Miss Mary G. Ewing, lecturer; introduced by J. P. Kidd, who said in part:—

I think you will all agree with me that there is a greater yearning than ever before on the part of humanity to find the answer to that momentous question presented by Pilate to Jesus the Christ; namely, "What is truth?" Now Christian Science is the complete and satisfying answer to that question, and it is answering it for ever increasing numbers on the basis of demonstration. By that I mean that it does not present a human, speculative theory and leave one wondering as to the truth of it; on the contrary, it is teaching all who are willing to learn, that each man, woman, and child can begin to put even the slightest knowledge of its glorious revelation to the test, here and now, with "signs following." It is this eminently practical religion which is going to solve every problem that the world can present.

The Christian Science movement is made up of a mighty host of grateful and joyful people who have, in varying degrees, experienced something of its healing touch or, in other words, have seen some of the "signs" following a measure of understanding faithfully applied.
