I first heard of Christian Science through my sister who had been helped by it. I bought a copy of Science and Health and soon afterwards a Quarterly, but got very little out of what I read. I felt there was not time to read the whole Lesson-Sermon each day, so for about a year I read only half of it. While I was going on in this way, my mother became suddenly sick with pneumonia and was quickly healed through Christian Science treatment. This made me realize what a wonderful truth Christian Science is. As there were many cases of the same sort in the town with fatal results under medical treatment my brother asked me to come home. He met me at the train, however, with the news that she was much better; and inside of who weeks from the time she became sick, my mother was up and able to do all her own work again. The neighbors thought her recovery wonderful.

I was so grateful for my dear mother's healing that I knew I must express my gratitude by trying to learn more of this wonderful truth, so I began to study and apply what I read. While I still have much to learn and overcome, it has been a very great help to me these four years. Earache, sick headache, and many other difficulties have been overcome. Also I have been able to do without glasses that had been worn for eight years, the oculist having told me I would always need to wear them. Before having treatment for my eyes I could not go without glasses for half a day without having severe headaches.

I am grateful indeed to Mrs. Eddy, who has made it possible for us to understand the Bible in this new light; also to all who have helped me with my problems.
