About seven years ago my brother sent me the Christian Science...

About seven years ago my brother sent me the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and a few copies of the Sentinel. I was then in normal school and did not take time to read them very much; but what I did read I thought was very beautiful, although not understanding it all. My brother, however, assured me that I would gain the understanding of the Christ, Truth, as I kept on reading.

My health was never good from childhood, and I was never strong like others, and kept getting worse as I grew older. I could not do very much work or go anywhere without afterwards having to lie down to rest and sometimes being ill. I had to give up my school work and life did not seem to hold very much for me. I had a great desire to know more about God and Christ Jesus, so after we moved to this place, about three years ago, I began to read more earnestly in Science and Health and found there what I had been seeking and longing for—the truth about God and His Christ. This understanding of Truth seemed very, very wonderful. I read day and night almost, and was so interested I forgot all about the material means I had been taking and have never resorted to them again; and I am healthier and stronger than ever before. I can take long journeys without becoming sick or tired, and can do more work. One mornign I awoke with all the symptoms of diphtheria, but had no fear and felt confident that the power of Truth would heal me. Soon all the symptoms disappeared.

I have been able to make many other beautiful demonstrations through the understanding I have gained of Christian Science. At first my people talked against this religion. Now my father and sister have come into Science and the rest are interested in it, and for this I am very grateful.
