About four years ago I became interested in Christian Science by watching the sick and crippled pass my home to and from a practitioner's office. I could see improvement from day to day and finally felt that there must be something in Christian Science practice, although I had formerly treated this teaching as a joke, not knowing anything at all about it.
One of my old enemies, lumbago, attacked me in a very severe way, and just as an experiment I called this practitioner. The result was so satisfying that I took up the study of Christian Science and my children began to depend upon it for help of every kind. In our family, rheumatism, burns, severe sick headache, colds, and many other ailments have been overcome. The demonstration over sickness in animals has been wonderful. Christian Science supplies endurance for hardships and I have proved that "they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; ... they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Truth indeed does free us from every limitation. One great source of rejoicing is the harmony in our home, where formerly there was irritation, depression, and harsh words. I know now that God is an ever present help in trouble, that He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, whereas I formerly only believed; and I know that the Christ, Truth, has never left us. I rejoice that I am living in the age when this beautiful new-old truth has been set before the world and is available to one and all to be demonstrated in each life as the power and presence of God.
My gratitude to God, the giver of all good, is unbounded, and I am thankful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her unselfish and loving devotion to the cause of Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Grace Garrett, Dallas, Tex.
