With a deep feeling of thankfulness I wish to testify to...

With a deep feeling of thankfulness I wish to testify to the many blessings which I have received through Christian Science. A little over three years ago I was stricken with a nervous trouble together with sleeplessness. Two physicians were consulted and my loved ones did everything in their power for me, but all in vain; my condition was becoming worse instead of better. The nights were dreadful, and for two weeks I hardly slept. As nighttime approached, a feeling of great fear overcame me and I could not be alone. I would sleep for a few moments, only to be disturbed by the most horrible dreams, so that I immediately awakened.

A dear neighbor then gave me a few copies of Der Herold der Christian Science to read. As I read, it became apparent to me that if so many people were healed through this teaching I, too, could be healed, for God is "no respecter of persons." I found in this periodical the address of a practitioner and wrote to her for help. Very soon I received a loving letter and treatments were begun. Improvement was not at once noticeable, for I still clung to the belief that God had sent this affliction. It was nine months before I was completely healed. I was also healed of a severe intestinal trouble for which physicians deemed an immediate operation necessary. My fourteen-year-old daughter was stricken with a severe case of tympanitis last winter. I promptly notified a practitioner and immediately the pain ceased. After a few days' treatment the child was well again.

For these and many other blessings I express my heartfelt thankfulness to God, good. This beautiful truth has been a spiritual illumination to my consciousness and I am now a happier, healthier, and more satisfied woman. My greatest desire is to become a true Christian Scientist, one who not only through words but through deeds demonstrates what the knowledge of the truth gives to mankind. With a grateful heart I thank our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who showed us the way to truth, freedom, and peace.
