I wish to give the following testimony of the healing of my little daughter. From the time she was born until she reached the age of eight years, she was very delicate and under the constant care of several physicians, with some relief at times but never a hope of permanent cure. Finally I took her to another physician, who was considered one of the best in the city, for a thorough examination and help. The doctor found that one of her lungs was not healthy and the bronchial tubes were affected. He warned me not to allow her to enter a schoolroom again and not to have more than one or two people at a time in a room with her at home—never to allow her to be where there were several people, unless in the open air.

My husband and I were much discouraged and very unhappy until Christian Science was recommended to me. I did not go to a practitioner at all but purchased "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and read it together with the Bible, studying the Lesson-Sermon every week. Although at first I did not understand very much of Christian Science, I kept on studying, and with the loving help of a friend, when I was struggling for understanding of what God really is, I finally was able to prove the Scriptural text, "Seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you." As soon as the understanding of God and His idea was clear to me, I set aside all material remedies, and left my child to her divinely natural right to health, to enjoy and have it always, as God would not have any of His children deprived of their inheritance.

It is impossible for me to express in writing my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for revealing Christian Science to us. Our child was healed a few weeks after the understanding of the truth came to me, and has been attending school for the last four years. She has learned to swim, and her instructor claims that her breathing is very wonderful, and thinks she can be a long-distance swimmer. She is healthy in every way, and whereas she was under weight before we knew of Christian Science, she is wonderfully well developed physically as well as mentally, for which I trust and hope to prove my gratitude by being an obedient student, seeking constantly for onward and upward progress in Christianity.
