This testimony is given with a great desire to encourage those who have seemingly slow healings. In the fall of 1911 I witnessed a healing in Christian Science and this led me to take up the study of this religion. I went along for about five years doing what I thought was earnest work in Christian Science, but all of a sudden found myself in a seemingly terrible mental state. For more than two years I suffered continually from attacks of mental depression which were indescribable. I had the patient help of practitioners and received my healing, but it did not come until I made a sincere effort to cast jealousy, envy, hatred, malice, resentment, and sensitiveness out of my thought and tried to have loving and kind thoughts toward my fellow man.
I am more grateful than words can express that I did not give up Christian Science in my seeming trial but that God guided me all the way. I could write for hours of the help and benefits received in our home. I am beginning to appreciate what Mrs. Eddy has done for the world in giving us this blessed truth which shows us how to work out our salvation.
