About eight years ago I took up the study of Christian Science more for the purpose of learning the facts about it than for any other reason. I was, however, at that time in bondage to various diseases, two of which were pronounced absolutely incurable by medical and surgical authority,—a valvular leakage of the heart and a serious condition of hernia. I studied the letter of Christian Science thoroughly and as best I could imbibed the spirit, with the result that I soon learned man's relation to God. All fear of the effects of overexercise or heavy labor left me, and all dread of these so-called incurable conditions was forgotten, so great was my interest in the newly found truth which I now know was making me free from all bondage.
One morning I forgot to put on the appliance which for four years I had been compelled to wear continually while on my feet. For the past three years I have had no use for it, as I am perfectly healed, not only of the rupture, but of the heart trouble as well. I am able to do any kind of hard work without inconvenience and can "run, and not be weary." While I cannot but be filled with gratitude to God for these healings which mean so much to me, yet I am much more grateful for that love for all His children, the love which makes us free. I am thankful every hour that He gave this blessed message of freedom to one who was so fully equipped by divine Love that she could give it to a waiting world. My wife and I rejoice in our membership in The Mother Church, also in the branch church of this city.
