It was just a year ago that I began the study of Christian Science and I am very grateful for what it has done for me. I asked a friend who is a Scientist to send me some literature, as I saw that she and her family were healthy and happy and seemed to know of something that I did not. Needless to say, this was lovingly done, also a copy of Science and Health was lent to me. Before reading very long I recognized this teaching as the truth, and was healed of backache and chills which had been experienced at the beginning of the winter for several years. Our younger child was freed from chronic bowel trouble, and the elder girl was able to leave off glasses, after having been told by a specialist that she would need to wear them constantly. After reading the literature a few weeks I twisted my ankle on some ice. The pain was intense for a few moments, but it disappeared when I declared the truth, and I was able to sit for half an hour until a carriage was brought to take me home. I asked for help from my Scientist friend, with the result that I had no fear and very little pain. A doctor who examined the foot found two bones broken and expected than an X-ray examination would be necessary at the end of two weeks; but upon seeing the ankle again he declared it in perfect condition. For this demonstration of the power of divine Love I am very grateful. I have also been healed of anxiety and a sense of lack.
I am grateful for being able to help others. I rejoice in our periodicals, finding much help in this wise provision of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who left us such a practical guide to Life and harmony. My wish is that all may come to know this beautiful truth and enjoy its untold blessings.
