The Reader

I Heard a gentle woman speaking forth
Stern words of Truth, awed in the utterance,
That Truth should be of so great prevalence
To heal, and she herself so little worth.

Take courage! for it is not ye that speak.
The might of Mind confirms the tender voice,
Making the poor and impotent rejoice
That God hath given His strength unto the meek.
