I am very grateful to God for all the blessings that have...
I am very grateful to God for all the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science. I can truly say that divine Love has supplied my every need, but especially wish to testify to the overcoming of a severe eye trouble. In the summer of 1914 I was suffering intense pain. Every now and again my eyes were so badly inflamed that I could neither read nor sew, and the light made the pain unbearable, causing severe headache. I had to go about the house with a shade over my eyes. I was advised to consult a doctor and did so. He said it was a rheumatic affection, and advised me to have a pair of green spectacles made to wear out of doors to shield my eyes from the light and the winds, and also gave me eye drops and a lotion to bathe the eyes with. I used these remedies two or three times daily, but they did not do much good; indeed, the pain seemed more intense after using them. I was wearing glasses on account of a structural defect of the eyes, and the doctor said that probably the lenses should be changed. Four months later, as I was still suffering from this trouble, I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner and after a few treatments the pain became less. In about a fortnight there was no trace of inflammation left; the healing was complete. That was two years and a half ago and the painful condition has never returned.
About a year ago I had treatment for violent headaches and bilious attacks, which came on nearly every week, quite prostrating me for a few days. This condition was also overcome, and how I did rejoice and bless God for all His goodness. I have had many other proofs of the healing and sustaining power of Truth and know that as I get a better understanding of the spiritual sense of Life nothing but peace and harmony can reign.
