It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God that I give this testimony of the healing of our little niece. When she was about one year of age, her father and mother both passed on as a result of tubercular disease. The child appeared to be entirely free from this trouble, but a year later she began to drag one of her feet. This became so noticeable that we consulted a surgeon, who took her to the hospital for an X-ray examination. We were startled upon being told that she had tubercular disease of the hip. She was then put in a cast from above the waist to her toes. After she had suffered from pain and inconvenience for eighteen months with the heavy cast, without the slightest improvement, but on the contrary growing worse, as she had no appetite and was deprived of proper sleep, we became very much discouraged, as the doctor gave us nothing bright to hope for except that the child might outgrow the trouble in five years.

Christian Science had been brought to our notice several times, but we thought it might be good for almost anything except that disease. In our desperation, however, as a last resort we consulted a Christian Scientist, who gave us the only ray of hope we had received, and treatment was asked for. In a very short time the inflammation began to subside. The progress was steady, although there were many discouraging moments, because we were so fearful and anxious to have the little one well. In five months her crutches were laid aside, and about two months later she was entirely healed, going to school with other children.

We can never thank God enough for His wondrous gift of Christian Science through Mrs. Eddy to suffering humanity.—(Mrs.) M. Louise Wells, Rochester, N. Y.
