My hope in sending this testimony for publication is that some one may be helped, encouraged, or interested by it in Christian Science, as I am so often helped by the testimonies of others; for although it is many years since the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, logically explained for me the problem of dualism and set me on the road to prove the explanation true, these testimonies to the efficacy of Christian Science in overcoming every possible human trouble, constantly reassure and strengthen me, prompting again and again the song of gratitude.

Thoroughly dissatisfied with the teachings of the faith in which I was educated and such philosophy as I had inquired into, sickened physically and mentally, with an objectless sense of existence, I was in great need when Science and Health was recommended to me by a friend. The purchase to that book was the best investment I ever made, for the truth it reveals began at once to satisfy, to heal, to enlighten. With the help of a practitioner it was not long before a physical trouble for which I had been invalided home from Ceylon, disappeared; the taste for smoking was taken away from me, and I was relieved of the belief that I must indulge in alcoholic drinks for one reason or another, although I had no particular desire for them. These improvements have of course been permanent.

For the last fifteen years I have relied entirely on Christian Science for healing, and it has brought me not only a satisfactory solution of every physical, financial, and personal problem to which I have faithfully applied my understanding of the truth, but the far greater gift of spiritual enlightenment.
