About five years ago I was on board an interurban train that was running at a very rapid rate of speed when the journal in one of the front wheels gave way, dashing the car violently against the road bank. To mortal sense it was a very severe accident and the occupants were all more or less injured, some seriously. I myself was rendered unconscious and received a deep scalp cut about three inches in length, severing an artery and causing such loss of blood that the company's surgeon afterwards said that at one time he felt sure I had passed away. On regaining consciousness I worked my way out of the wreck and walked some distance to a farm, where I again passed into an unconscious state for a short time. We were only about eight miles out of the city and were soon in communication with friends at home. When I was asked my telephone number, a request to do my own talking was granted, and I told my wife to pay no attention to reports she would most likely hear, but to send for me; that I was all right. She immediately stood "porter at the door of thought," as Mrs. Eddy tells us to do in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 392), and declared the truth of being. At no time was fear apparent to any great extent, for I was so protected by divine Love that fear had no place to dwell. After I arrived home we telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for help and in nine days I was back at work.

For this healing and many other instances of restored harmony I am deeply thankful. Words cannot express my thankfulness to God and our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, or my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for the beautiful truth revealed through the study of the Bible in the light of Christian Science.—A. I indeed wish to verify the statement of my husband, for of a truth his healing has been perfect; and I also wish to add that I have had many wonderful healings in Christian Science and am very thankful to God, also grateful to our dear Leader for giving us this wonderful truth. My sincere desire is to live daily so as to reflect more of the Mind that was in Christ Jesus, that I may have a fuller and better understanding of God.
