Twelve years ago last October I turned to Christian Science for healing, after medicine and surgery had failed to cure me. With my first treatment I was healed of fluid on the knee joint, after two years of suffering. I went to sleep and slept about an hour, and when I awoke all the swelling and pain, every trace of the trouble, was gone. In a few weeks I was healed of acute indigestion, from which I had suffered extremely for a long time. In about three months an organic disorder of many years' standing was overcome. After the second operation failed, my physician told me I would never be well and strong, and should spend as much time in bed as possible. One day before I realized that I was healed, I found considerable work about the home that had been neglected. I began to work at six o'clock in the morning and was on my feet all day, doing heavy lifting and reaching, with no bad results. All day I kept repeating the last verse of the fortieth chapter of Isaiah: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." When night came I realized that I had been absent from the body, and present with the Lord. I was neither weak nor weary, and from that time I have done all kinds of hard work. The past twelve years have been the healthiest and happiest years of my life. Many physical ailments have been overcome; influenza and headaches disappeared in a much shorter time than under the old method of treatment.

About a year before turning to Christian Science I laid the Bible aside, because there seemed to be nothing in it for me; my prayers were not answered, and there seemed to be no help for me. Science and Health has, however, taught me to understand the Bible as never before, and through this better understanding I have learned to know God as an ever present help at all times and under all conditions. He is the great and only Physician. Christian Science is indeed the truth that makes men free.

I am grateful for the help I receive from the periodicals and the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon, also for the privilege of class instruction. I am most grateful for the spiritual uplift that came with my first treatment. My daily prayer is that I may live and study this truth so as to be able to help others as I was helped. I am thankful to God for the blessings received, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who gave this truth to the world that all may be healed who are ready to accept it.—(Miss) Helena L.
